Ishi-chan's "Extraordinary" Gourmet Show

Starring one of Japan's most famous "gourmet reporters," Hidehiko Ishizuka (a.k.a. Ishi-chan), the program presents little known gems of restaurants and exquisite cuisine from across the country. There are numerous, fine-tasting dishes popular throughout Japan, with sushi to sukiyaki, ramen to Shabu-shabu, just being a few. This show, however, focuses on superb dishes that exceed all expectations as well as exclusive specialties known only to select gastronomes or connoisseurs. Ishi-chan throws himself at everything from off-beat menus such as pitch-black Udon noodles and shiny, gold-colored hot pots to individual ingredients like fresh beef and octopus. His humorous antics and comments, along with his much loved signature cry "Maiu! (Delicious)" whenever he tastes something wonderful, are other entertaining features that viewers can look forward to.
